Michael Lofton has a background in urban planning, community development, housing, and real estate, with experience addressing distressed, vacant, and abandoned properties. He is passionate about using real estate and community development strategies to revitalize neighborhoods and return underutilized properties to productive use.
Prior to joining the South Suburban Land Bank in 2024, Michael worked with the City of Chicago Department of Housing, Community Investment Corporation, and Neighborhood Housing Services of Chicago. His experience includes housing development, property acquisition and disposition, receivership, neighborhood revitalization, and program management. Michael currently serves as Program Director for the South Suburban Land Bank and Development Authority.
