Keisha Wheaten-Thomas has a background in real estate development, property management, housing inspections, and land-bank operations. She is passionate about using her real estate expertise to strengthen communities, restore vacant and distressed properties, expand homeownership opportunities, and support thoughtful neighborhood revitalization. Keisha particularly enjoys applying her problem-solving and project management skills to advance complex projects and transform challenges into meaningful community impact.

Before joining the South Suburban Land Bank and Development Authority in 2025, Keisha worked as an Asset Manager and Project Manager at the City of Chicago Department of Housing, where she managed real estate assets, coordinated property redevelopment initiatives, and supported programs to return properties to productive use. Keisha currently serves as Senior Operations Manager for the South Suburban Land Bank and Development Authority.

Keisha holds a Master of Science in Real Estate from Roosevelt University and a bachelor’s degree from Northern Illinois University. She is also a licensed Illinois managing broker.
